Welcome from HIS Principal Stephanie Tucker

Welcome to Hillsboro Intermediate School - a community fostering learning and growth through respect and responsibility.  As believers in lifelong learning we share a commitment to continued growth.  Our tradition of a strong school community has given us great reason to celebrate; we remain committed to working arduously with every student to reach his/her potential.

The administration, faculty and staff at HIS are committed to providing the best educational services for our students.  Providing the academic rigor and relevance necessary for continued success into high school and beyond is one of our top priorities, along with an emphasis on social and emotional learning for all students.  In addition to academic growth, an essential component of a child’s educational experience is social, emotional, and physical development.  By providing a comprehensive program that focuses on the whole child, we hope to assist each student in developing an enthusiasm for learning that includes happiness, a positive self-image, and an inquisitive nature.  We are blessed here at HIS to have respectful and caring students.

We are extremely proud of the learning environment that has been created in Hillsboro.  On behalf of the entire HIS community, thank you for taking an interest in our school and we anticipate great things to happen here at HIS!

Inclement Weather Information

Hillsboro ISD is dedicated to the safety of students and staff. With winter and the possible threat of snow and ice, the HISD community must know the District has an established plan to determine whether schools will be open, delayed, or closed. The District attempts to decide on waiting or closing as early as possible, usually by 5:30 a.m.

If the superintendent determines to delay or close school, the District’s phone messaging system (Parent Square) will be activated, and the major radio and television stations will be notified. The District will also post this information on the District’s website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. HISD only posts these notifications if school is delayed or closed — not if it is open as usual.
